The cliche says something to the effect that it is not about the distance travelled but the quality of the experiences within the process. For a few years now, I have tried to keep the online store open on a continuous basis to no avail and clearly not due to the amount of fan support. I am once again opening the online store with a few more collectible items added… For one the much awaited first of its kind limited edition coloring book. I have learned much through this process […]
How should I start this one… 10 cities in 8 states and 240 pieces of original art, all in 10 days. Phoenix, Arizona —> Oaks Creek, Arizona —> Santa Fe, New Mexico —> Boulder, Colorado —> Park City, Utah —> Boise, Idaho —> Seattle, Washington —> Portland, Oregon —> Tahoe City, California —> Mammoth Mountain, California An amazing experience in the midst of original company proved to be of much always needed inspirational and perhaps zany touch of the horizon. No worries I will up the ante… I got hours […]
One week ago I happened to stumble upon a stack of old school Viviendo Beans Stickers. I naturally began thinking of what I could do with them since I prefer timeline continuity of my work out there on the streets. So then, I decided on a free sticker pack mailing and I proceeded to advertise the event on social media. Granted I do this all the time but never on a vintage item. A brand new collection is now brewing at the studio entitled Devaluado (Devalued). This one is a 27 piece set mostly in large formats with a collage mix media background on wood. These backgrounds are made with a collage technique using Honduras Lempira bills with aerosol and acrylic paint on top. I will be lining them up with brush and black enamel paint. The narrative behind the Devaluado Collection revolves around my immigrant experience and those parallels tied up in the current child migrant crisis.
Because I have been focusing so much on my documentary movie project about my recent travels to Honduras I have been unable to keep you up to date… For that I apologize. Anyway, back in June 2015 the Beans were able to reach Las Vegas with great success. I received tons of social media hits which only fuels me to continue giving. One of my favorite parts of the trip was that I discovered the street art pulse of Las Vegas and made a few contacts… I look forward to […]
The Free Beans project has arrived in full force as a set of 24 to Venice Beach, California. I decided to entitle the expedition as Light My Fire as a tribute to Jim Morrison and The Doors. Venice Beach presented itself to me in all its glory on friday May 29, 2015. It was a perfect 70 degrees and sunny day with a packed boardwalk filled with both tourist and locals alike. I connected to the abstract vibe within seconds and I knew I was experiencing creative energy of high […]
