Tijuana, Mexico becomes number 32

It has been a minute since the last Free Beans Run in Austin, Texas. This past Sunday I had a chance to walk the streets of Tijuana and I was able to drop a set of 24 original Beans. The streets were very busy and as always the locals were very puzzled when they noticed my activity. I am always amazed how many feelings and emotions run through me when doing this project… I have done it so many times that I thought that by now, I would have lost […]

More Free Beans for 2017

What started out as a game has turned into some sort of compulsion. I still cannot believe that very soon will mark the 4 year anniversary for The Free Beans Project. To date, 30 cities have been hit with the project and I am proud to say the Beans have been spread out in all three Americas: North, Central and South America. Dig this: In four years The Free Beans Project has produced over 700 pieces of original art and that is one very big art installation. I must share with you […]

Metro De Medellin Has A Friend In Me

In case you have not noticed… I have just returned from a 30 day adventure in Medellin, Colombia. The intended project was very complicated with the potential for three different formats. The good news is that one of the three was accomplished and the ground work has been laid for the other two. I will tell you later about the overall details of the project that was indeed completed and is entitled Todo Es Temporal… but not now. What I will tell you is how incredibly exciting it is to […]

Free Beans in Medellin, Colombia

Realidad Magica (Magical Reality) is what this set of Free Beans is entitled… fitting since most of you may already know that Colombia is said to be the mother of Magical Realism. As always I had a fantastic time getting to know the city hiding my Beans in plain site. For the dispersal of this set, the neighborhood of El Poblado was chosen because of the proximity to the hotel where I happen to currently reside. I find El Poblado to be very posh with its fine dining, fine art […]

Left my mark at Art Basel Miami

The truth is that I never expected to find a wall at Wynwood for Art Basel Miami 2015 but I was really hoping that I did. Maybe it was silly that I did not bring any painting gear because I did not want to jinx my intention but the trip was supposed to focus on doing a massive Free Beans project and to network at what is said to be the biggest stage of urban art in the entire country. By 9am of the very first morning I was already out […]

Mojado all over Wynwood, Miami

Art Basel 2015 was plagued by rain, wind, thunder and lighting. Just when you thought it was over more rain came to the extent that many roads were flooded out causing a nightmare not only for the visiting crowd but also for the artists painting all over town. Nonetheless, the artists did not give up and continued to do what they do best. And the crowd though in smaller numbers showed up to support. Any little break in the weather you could see the streets come to life as if […]

The Beans went to Las Vegas, Nevada

Because I have been focusing so much on my documentary movie project about my recent travels to Honduras I have been unable to keep you up to date… For that I apologize. Anyway, back in June 2015 the Beans were able to reach Las Vegas with great success. I received tons of social media hits which only fuels me to continue giving. One of my favorite parts of the trip was that I discovered the street art pulse of Las Vegas and made a few contacts… I look forward to […]
